It’s Leap Year, What Will You Do With the Extra Day?

by misti on February 29, 2012

It’s February 29th, and you know what that means…it’s Leap Year! Yesterday, I asked this question on our Facebook page:

“A photography term or technique I want to learn more about is ___________. (fill in the blank)”

Many of you answered with things like composition, lighting, metering, etc. I want to challenge you to take the extra day we’ve been given and learn something new. Whether it’s doing a Google search, browsing on Flickr and learning from examples, or looking things up the old fashioned way…with books. Take a trip to the library or book store and spend an afternoon delving into the subject of your choice. Or, might I suggest a workshop or two…wink, wink.

Don’t we all wish we had more time in the day? Well, we’ve been given an extra 24 hours, so why not put them to good use!

What will I be researching? Well, HDR Photography, of course! I find my inspiration from Trey Ratcliff, the master of HDR, in my opinion. Here is a photo he created using the HDR effect, taken at Disney World…yes, my favorite place in the entire world!
