What inspires the photographer in you?
(I hope you don't find my alliteration too annoying...I am a bit punchy tonight.)

I started this once, but the post got lost! So, I'll try again. It seems that doors, windows, and old buildings are my inspiration. It started with this orange door:

I think I am, too. It is a shame that such beautiful buildings are allowed to fall into disrepair, though. I'm also in olve with Kim Klassen's Beyond Layers and Photoshop Essentials classes. They are pushing me, not only to pick up the camera more often, but also pushing me to be more creative with the post processing.

I'm going to have to vote for "other". I know, how boring, right? I'm drawn to history, whether it's old homesteads, or vintage cars and boats. Anything that gets me thinking about the lives that lived and played in the past. I also love finding textures wherever I go...I often get funny looks when I'm taking a photo of a brick wall. I'm sure they wonder what they're missing. Anyone else get those types of confused looks, too? Please tell me I'm not alone!!

I spent my Saturday morning taking photos of a friend's kids playing basketball. I had to be up at 6:15 so I could get there in time. It was so much fun for me to watch these little kindergartners try to dribble and pass and shoot. I watched two hours of basketball through my lens and had so much fun. Of course, I felt like I couldn't see right when I was done, but that's all part of the job.
At my own kids' ball games, I don't sit in the bleachers, I sit criss-cross-applesauce right behind home plate trying to get great action shots. I seriously love it. I am sure people think that I am nuts.

Also, I suddenly because aware of the faces I make when I am concentrating through the lens. What a dork!
