A Giclée print is a high-quality fine art print that is produced using a specialized inkjet printer. The word “giclée” is derived from the French verb “gicler,” which refers to the process by which the printer applies ink to the paper.
Giclée prints are known for their exceptional color accuracy and detail, as well as their longevity. The ink used in giclée printing is archival, meaning it is designed to resist fading and yellowing over time, and the printing process itself allows for a wide color gamut and fine detail reproduction.
Giclée prints are often used to reproduce artwork, photography, and other types of fine art prints, and are typically printed on high-quality paper or canvas. Because of their high quality and longevity, giclée prints are often considered to be fine art in their own right and are prized by collectors and artists alike.
How to pronounce Giclée?: zhee-clay. The first syllable “gic” is pronounced like “zhee”, similar to the “J” sound in the French language. The second syllable “lee” is pronounced like “clay”. So, the whole word is pronounced: “zhee-clay”.

Our print partner’s standard process for apparel is Direct to Garment (DTG), which is a printing method that sprays the ink onto the garment, which then soaks into the fibers. This process allows them to create photo quality prints on shirts (whereas vinyl and screen printing is limited in detail and color). DTG printed shirts are just as durable as screen printed shirts when it comes to washability.
Apparel may have a slight vinegar smell on it upon arrival; this is typical for DTG-printed apparel and will wash out after the first wash.
See the care instructions below to best preserve the design on your apparel.
Our print partner uses the latest direct-to-garment (DTG) printing technology and high-quality inks that won’t fade for a long time if taken care of properly.
Keep in mind that the original manufacturer’s care instructions don’t take into consideration the DTG printing process. So we suggest following the care instructions below in order to care for your new printed t-shirt properly.
Printed apparel can be machine-washed cold, inside-out on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. Use non-chlorine bleach only when necessary. You shouldn’t use any fabric softeners or dry-clean the items, and hang-dry works best. When it comes to ironing, use cool iron inside-out. Don’t iron the print.
All mugs use the sublimation method of printing, which is a printing technique that uses heat to transfer dye ink onto materials.
Unlike applying adhesive vinyl, sublimating on ceramic mugs makes them dishwasher and microwave safe.
Note: Please use care when using the dishwasher as some heat settings can fade the print over time.
Yes. Our mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe. Note: Please use care when using the dishwasher as some heat settings can fade the print over time.
Our print partner has print facilities in seven locations around the world: North Carolina, California, Mexico, Canada, Spain, and Latvia, as well as several partner facilities in Australia and Japan. Orders are routed to the production location nearest to its destination (though some items may be shipped from a further facility due to stock availability), and ship directly from the facility that they were printed in. Mugs and apparel ship out separately due to the different facilities that they are printed in, so please expect that they may arrive at different times and the tracking will only reflect the last item to be shipped.
