I’m writing this piece at 5:39 a.m. I’ve been up since 3 a.m. working on other tasks. I’m a mother and a small business owner. Business is booming and this day’s to-do list is not unlike any other.

I stay afloat by having so much love and passion for what I do. And by also appreciating the little things, like this piping hot coffee in front of me, and sunrises.

So on the subject of appreciating the little things, I wanted to share three of my favorite apps that make my life so much easier and hopefully yours now, too!

1 | Shoot Proof’s New Apps

Did you know my session guide is an app that clients can download and share? Well it is, and my client’s just love this and it looks amazing, too. Using an app for your session guide is such an efficient way of doing business. The cost is very minimal and they are automatically updated with any new changes made.

I previously used Sticky Albums, but Shoot Proof just launched their apps with no additional cost to the account I already have.  I actually prefer the layout, too, and the less accounts I have overall just makes my life easier and my expenses lower.

2 | Sai Mendo’s Posing App: The Posing Guide for Photographers and Models

This was the best few bucks I’ve ever spent on an app. I’m well versed in the rules of posing, but I still find this app incredibly useful and all the poses relevant to my style. I photograph more than one genre and it’s not because I have not narrowed my brand. I think it’s because my brand has become all about my relationships with my awesome clients. They get married, have children and their children have children and I want to be there for all of that. This app keeps me creative and inspired. The poses are broken down into different categories including: children, women, men, and groups. If I’m feeling like I’m in a rut or facing a unique situation I just glance at it prior to a session and I’m good to go.

3 | Expensify

Last but not least, 2014 is a new year and I know I’m not the only one trying to stay better organized. If I don’t stay on top of my book keeping it gets overwhelming to say the least. Expensify is an app that allows you to track your expenses, time, and mileage all in one place. It makes bookkeeping a breeze with features that allow you to photograph receipts and gps distance tracking for mileage input. Plus it’s easy to use and understand. Am I the only one that’s found the balance sheet more daunting then say, the inverse square law?

Hopefully, you’ll be able to implement all or at least one of these apps into your workflow and it’ll make your busy life just a little more manageable. Now if someone can find me an anti-distraction app that allows me to only log into Facebook twice daily please leave that in the comments below! I’d owe you a million thanks and a lifetime of productivity!
