This past Saturday, Misti and I attended Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk in Boise, Idaho. It was our first time participating and we had so much fun! I want to share a few of my favorite photos that I took from the walk. Misti will share her favorites tomorrow!

We can submit one photo for a chance to win some great prizes and I’m going to need your help. I can’t decide which one I should submit! So let me know in the comments which one you like the best!

1. Our walk was located in downtown Boise and apparently, every weekend they have a farmer’s market. I had no idea, I guess I need to get out more! There were all kinds of different booths set up. I was immediately attracted to this guy… He was roasting peppers right out in the middle of the street. You could tell he loved what he was doing! And let me tell you, those peppers smelled so good!

2. I made it a point to go into the alleyways and see what kinds of interesting things I could find. I wanted to see something out of the ordinary, something unexpected and I came across this blue dumpster. I noticed the flowers on the ground. They seemed so out of place here! They were on their way out of this world and I wondered what they had been for.

3. There is a section of alleyways downtown called “Freak Alley.” Misti and I hadn’t heard of this place before but we’re glad we found out about it now! It is so interesting! It’s a place where artists can come paint on the walls of the alleys. This mural instantly caught my attention. The image of Jimi Hendrix is created from pieces of broken mirrors. It was so pretty seeing the reflections of the buildings and sky in them.

4. Photographing people and architecture doesn’t come easy to me and definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone. So, when I came across the planters on the sidewalks filled with pretty flowers, I couldn’t help but stop and grab a few photos of them!

5. I tried to capture some so you wouldn’t even know they were living on a sidewalk in the middle of the city and not in some botanical garden!

6. And I tried to show a little bit of their environment, like the road and the storm drain!

I had such a great time and I can’t wait to do it again next year! Remember to let me know which one is your favorite! Thanks!
